A gentle journey back to health, where the best wound care also means the best patient care. After assessing your wound, and discussing your situation and expectations, I will propose a plan that aims to close the wound within four weeks. I will accompany you through the recovery process, supervising every dressing change personally, and monitoring you for any change in condition.
Possible wound care treatments include:
Negative pressure wound therapy, which distributed negative pressure across the wound to draw out fluids, and aid healing.
Artificial skin, which protects the exposed part of a wound, and unlike dressings is designed to remain in place for an extended period.
Skin flaps and other surgical interventions, that make use of healthy skin, taken from elsewhere on the patient’s body, and used to close a wound.
Whether your wound is caused by the progression of a disease, the result of surgery, or burns or of an injury, it is essential that they are treated quickly and effectively. A wound that doesn’t heal can lead to infection, which can spread through the blood, and can be the cause of tremendous pain.
