Every scar is as individual as the body that carries it, making the treatment of your scar a highly individualised process too. We begin with meeting in the upmarket comfort of my consultation rooms. Once I’ve assessed your scaring, I will make suggestions for a treatment that can possibly lighten it, or minimise the appearance, allowing it to blend more naturally with your healthy skin.
Some of the types of scarring we deal with are:
Keloid scars. These are thick, raised scars that often extend beyond the area of the original injury. They may be caused by overly aggressive healing of an injury.
Hypertrophic scars. Similar to keloids, there are red, raised scars that often occur in areas where the skin pulls tighter. These scars however are confined to the area of the injury.
Contracture scars. This kind of scar causes the skin to tighten and contract, possibly leading to chromic pain and limited mobility. These scars may also affect the underlying muscles and nerves.
Acne scars. Addresses scars caused by acne; the imperfections can range from slight dimples to deep pits.
