A gentle release for inverted nipples, that eases the nipples outwards. If your nipples are retracted into the areola, giving the appearance of a flat nipple, then nipple eversion can release the nipple into a protuberant position.
There are a number of reasons that cause nipples to invert, including development during puberty, trauma, breast feeding or certain diseases. Whatever the cause, nipple eversion can ease the nipples from pointing in, to pointed out.
The procedure
During the procedure, the shortened bands that tether the nipples in an inverted position are gently released to allow the nipple to evert, taking care not to damage the milk ducts.
Nipple eversion is a surgical procedure done either under local or general anaesthesia.
Possible side effects and complications
In a small percentage of patients the nipples will revert to their inverted state.
