If you do not have enough breast tissue to perform the mastopexy, you may choose to further enhance the effects with a breast implant, in a procedure known as breast augmentation mastoplexy.
The procedure
The Mastopexy operation is done under general anaesthetic and lasts between 90 minutes to 150 minutes. The final shape of the breast is not immediately observable, rather the shape the breast holds a year after surgery, is the final shape.
Possible side effects and complications
There will be an amount of scarring, which is either in the form of a single vertical scar from the lower edge of the nipple to the inframammary fold or an added short horizontal scar in the inframammary fold giving the appearance of an inverted T. The scars heal within two weeks.
